Room Amenities
All patient rooms include the following services at no extra charge:
- Television Service. Your in-room television offers free basic cable TV service which includes movies, sports, news, many popular cable networks and local programming. The TV remote allows you to adjust the volume, change channels and turn the TV on and off from your bed.
- Telephone Service. Patients have complimentary in-room telephone service with unlimited local calls. Your in-room telephone includes a volume control on the handset.
- To call outside the hospital:
- For local calls outside of the hospital, dial 9 followed by the number
- For long-distance calls: Dial 0 and the operator will assist you. You will be asked if you want to call collect, charge to your home phone or use a prepaid calling card. If you have questions, please ask your nurse. (There is a charge for making long-distance calls.)
- For calls within the hospital:
- Dial the four-digit extension (for example, 6000)
- To call outside the hospital:
Cell phones may be used throughout the hospital. Please respect the privacy and dignity of others.
- High-Speed Wireless Internet. UH Geneva Medical Center is pleased to provide free wireless high-speed Internet access for our patients and guests. To connect, please follow these steps:
- Turn on the laptop or other Wi-Fi device with wireless enabled
- Connect to the wireless network “UH_Guest”
- Launch the Web browser and go to the website www.UHhospitals.org
- Some users may need to configure the SSID or network name to “UH_Guest.”
For technical support, please call 1-888-304-9131. (Dial 0 and the operator will assist you with this call.)
Patient Meals
During your inpatient stay, you will select your meals from our At-Your-Request room service menu. Please inform the nutrition services representative if you have any food allergies when you place your order. Gluten-free meals are also available.
Your meal selections will be reviewed to ensure they follow any diet restrictions ordered by your doctor and delivered to your room within 45 minutes. If you need assistance in setting up your bedside table, opening containers or dining, just ask the nutrition services assistant who delivers your meal.
Room service is available from 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. To place your order, dial 50191 from your room telephone or 440-491-2056, extension 191 from outside the hospital. Meals can also be ordered in advance – just tell the room service operator when you would like your food delivered.
Families are also welcome to bring favorite foods from home, which may be stored in a refrigerator on your floor. Please remember to check first with your nurse about dietary restrictions. Always label the food with the patient’s name and date.
UH Geneva Patient Liaison
The patient liaison is an additional resource to assist you and your family with concerns, expedite services and provide emotional support.
Liaisons can help with various issues, including communication, policies and procedures, quality of care, safety, lost items, and general information about the hospital and our communities. If you encounter a problem, we encourage you to talk with your care provider first. If you are still not satisfied or if you prefer to talk to a third party, please contact the patient liaison.

Our electronic health record system provides you with safe, secure access to your personal health information through our online patient portal, UH MyChart. Sign up today and enjoy having all of your health information and test results in one place.
Patient Privacy
At UH Geneva Medical Center, all patient information is confidential. We carefully follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which requires hospitals to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of all electronic protected health information.
