Memorial Healing Garden Project at UH Geneva

To honor the memory of former UH Geneva Caregiver, Jamie Einheit, MSN, RN, CHPN, who passed away in January 2024, plans are underway to create a Healing Garden at UH Geneva Medical Center. Jamie’s passing continues to weigh heavy on the hearts and minds of the caregivers at UH Geneva. This garden will be dedicated to Jamie and open to all staff, patients, students and visitors as a place for healing and hope while at the hospital.

Expansion of Care

According to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, cancer is the second leading cause of death in Ashtabula County. Until recently, there were limited choices for cancer services in the Ashtabula area, requiring many who were diagnosed to travel out of county for treatment.

To address these issues and ensure patients receive advanced care in a comfortable, healing environment, UH has embarked on an ambitious campaign to establish UH Seidman Cancer Centers at both UH Geneva and UH Conneaut medical centers. Improvement of facilities with tranquil aesthetics, natural light and inspirational artwork will complete the full spectrum of UH Seidman Cancer Center services.

The total cost to expand cancer services for our rural patients at both facilities is $800,000. Make a gift today to support this expansion of care to our UH Geneva community and Ashtabula county residents.
