The Addiction Recovery Services group views addiction as a brain disease affecting physical, mental, psychosocial and spiritual functioning. With a high staff-to-patient ratio, our team utilizes a holistic and evidence-based treatment approach tailored to meet individual patient needs. Our team of clinicians consists of:

Flexible Outpatient Addiction Treatment

Addiction is a disease that affects a person physically, emotionally and spiritually. In addition, addictive disorders often severely impact the families and loved ones of addicted individuals.

Our extensive range of outpatient addiction treatment services allows our patients to remain involved in their daily responsibilities while participating in intensive treatment for drug addiction or alcoholism. Using an evidence-based approach, we can treat patients in the least restrictive level of care that is safe for them. Our team is also adept at treating patients with dual diagnoses, when addiction co-occurs with a mental health condition such as depression or anxiety.

Treatment Options for a Wide Range of Addictions

The UH Addiction Recovery Services treatment center offers outpatient detoxification and treatment for:

• Alcohol
• Opioid-based pain medications
• Heroin
• Cocaine
• Stimulants and amphetamines
• Sedatives, including benzodiazepines
• Cannabis

Addiction treatment services we offer include:

• Substance use evaluation/assessment
• Outpatient (ambulatory) detoxification
• Medication-assisted treatment, including Suboxone treatment
• Partial hospitalization program
• Intensive outpatient program (morning or evening)
• Dual diagnosis treatment (addiction co-occurring with other mental health disorders)
• Individual therapy
• Family education and counseling sessions

Addiction Recovery Services is located at the easily accessible W.O. Walker Center at 10524 Euclid Avenue.

Our Patient Care Staff can be reached at 216-983-3066 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday – Friday and will quickly schedule a first meeting with our clinical staff at your request.

In order to better serve the community, we accept most insurance plans as well as Medicare.

Education and Research on Addiction

Our affiliation with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and University Hospitals Research Institute brings an academic perspective to our addiction treatment programs and provides opportunities for research into the nature and treatment of addictive behaviors. Ongoing research and education assist Addiction Recovery Services in providing leading-edge treatment to patients with addictive disorders. These studies are geared toward enhancing service to our patients and improving their quality of life.
