He really listened and allowed me to explain how I've been feeling. He explained to me what tests needed to be done to find out what is going on with me.

This was a consultation visit with Dr. Ammori about possible future surgery. He preformed life-saving surgery on me in [...]. With my cancer as it is now, Dr. [...], my oncologist, who had been consulting with Dr. Ammori, suggested I see him in person. The visit was extraordinary. We discussed my situation and what future surgery could and could not do, and how to determine when to schedule that surgery based on future results and symptoms. Dr. Ammori told me we could meet after every CT scan, and, of course, if symptoms or results suggested it was time. But he also said we could meet any time I wanted, even if I just wanted to talk. Dr. Ammori and Dr. [..]. are both extremely caring and patient-focused doctors. I am so blessed to have them walking with me during this cancer journey. I literally thank God for them both, and that He led me to UH. You are blessed by having such wonderful doctors at your Hospitals.

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2016, John Ammori did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
