About
Travis J. Wilder, MD, MSc, is a pediatric cardiothoracic surgeon at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. He is board-certified in surgery and thoracic and cardiac surgery and is a clinical assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Wilder earned his Bachelor of Science degree at University of Arizona in Tucson and attended medical school at Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He also earned a Master of Science degree in biostatistics at the University of Toronto. Dr. Wilder completed his general surgery residency training at University of California San Diego, then completed a research fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. He completed a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at the University of Utah, followed by a congenital cardiac surgery fellowship at Texas Children’s Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Wilder is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons. He has served in an editorial role for medical journals including Cardiology in the Young, the World Journal for Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery, and the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
Dr. Wilder is active in pediatric cardiothoracic surgery research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles that have been published in prominent medical journals. He has also been invited to present his research at various national and international conferences and meetings.
Industry Relationships

We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
