About
Michael Vacante, DO, FACC, FSCAI, is a general cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.
Dr. Vacante earned his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. His postdoctoral training included an internal medicine residency at Cabrini Medical Center in New York followed by fellowships in invasive cardiology and cardiovascular disease at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. He then joined North Ohio Heart, Inc., and has been in practice for more than 35 years.
Dr. Vacante is board certified in cardiovascular disease with additional certification in nuclear cardiology. He has extensive experience caring for patients with common and complex heart conditions, such as coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and heart valve disease, with particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders.
Dr. Vacante is a member of nationally distinguished professional organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Osteopathic Association, American Heart Association, American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, Heart Rhythm Society and North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He has also been named a fellow of both the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention (SCAI). On a local level, Dr. Vacante is a member of the Lorain County Medical Society.
