Anna Serels, MD, is a board-certified physiatrist, specializing in physical medicine & rehabilitation. She received her undergraduate degree at McGill University and after completing her medical training at Sackler School of Medicine, she finished her residency training at Harvard University at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital.
As a physiatrist, her focus is to help people who are having trouble functioning in their day-to-day life, usually due to a problem in nerves, muscles or bones. While her interests lie in neurorehabilitation (stroke, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, etc.), she sees a great variety of patients, especially those with pain. She does in-office procedures including injections, EMG/NCS, and spasticity management. She incorporates a collaborative multidisciplinary approach with colleagues in primary care, orthopedics, neurology, rheumatology, neurosurgery, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.

Professional, very competent, and we discussed a very thorough plan of care including necessary X-ray to ascertain the best treatment. The plan is patient focused and covered nutritional, rehabilitative, to relieve inflammation and to achieve the best overall physiological outcomes.

I see dr Serel now and then for such concerns as need for physical therapy. She carefully exams me and listens to my concerns. She has recommend physical therapy options and gives me suggestions on how to reduce pain and discomfort. I recommended her to my husband and he has seen her for several years for sciatica and administers injections in his lower back which help him greatly. She always leaves me feeling that she is a very caring and well trained doctor and that we were lucky to be her patients.

Dr. Seres is a great doctor. She knew before anyone else that I needed a hip replacement 7 years ago. Now Dr. Serels is helping me with an adductor issue. I am feeling better.

I have MS and spinal stenosis; I see multiple specialists. I was referred to Dr. Serels by UH Dr. Schaefer because of her expertise with Botox. She gave me a thorough examination, had reviewed my medical history in detail, and provided an intelligent course of action for the future.
