About
Abhinav Rajpal, MD, MPH, specializes in geriatric and family medicine. Dr. Rajpal sees patients at University Hospitals offices in Beachwood, Solon and Broadview Heights.
Dr. Rajpal attended Miami University (Oxford, Ohio), where he earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science in zoology in 2007. After obtaining a Master of Public Health from Wright State University (Dayton, Ohio) in 2012, he earned his medical degree at St. George’s University School of Medicine (Grenada, West Indies) in 2018. Dr. Rajpal did his postdoctoral training at Summa Health (Akron, Ohio), where he completed a family medicine residency in 2023 and geriatric medicine fellowship in 2024.
As a clinical researcher, Dr. Rajpal has served as a data researcher for the Adam Williams traumatic brain injury study at Miami Valley Hospital (Dayton, Ohio) and a clinical research coordinator for the emergency department at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, among other related activities.
As an educator, Dr. Rajpal has served as a clinical instructor of family medicine and a clinical preceptor for medical students at Northeast Ohio Medical University (Rootstown, Ohio). He has also instructed on such topics as delirium vs. dementia, lung ultrasound, suture training and family medicine to audiences that include medical students, family medicine residents and medical center faculty. Dr. Rajpal has delivered research abstracts, poster presentations and didactic presentations at national conferences held by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), American Geriatrics Society (AGS) and Akron Area Ostomy Association, among other organizations. Dr. Rajpal has also served on a panel discussing post-acute care at Ohio Medical Directors Association (OMDA). He currently serves on the education committee of OMDA.
Dr. Rajpal was awarded Fellow of the Year in 2024 during his geriatrics fellowship at Summa in Akron, Ohio. He was selected as a Visiting Fellow to Cleveland Clinic in 2024. Professional societies in which Dr. Rajpal is a member include the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), Ohio Medical Director’s Association (OMDA) and American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP).
Outside of work, Dr. Rajpal’s interests include traditional cricket, tennis, golf, traveling and cooking.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
