About
Sarah Plummer, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist in the Congenital Heart Collaborative at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and an assistant professor of pediatrics at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She is director of the Cardiac Neurodevelopment Initiative and co-director of the Single Ventricle Program. Dr. Plummer is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology and her special interests includes cardiac neurodevelopment, pediatric and fetal echocardiography, quality improvement and single ventricle heart disease.
Dr. Plummer earned her BA in molecular biology at Princeton University and her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. She completed her residency training in pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (UPMC), where she served as chief resident. She completed fellowships in pediatric cardiology and pediatric cardiology non-invasive at Duke University School of Medicine.
Dr. Plummer is very active in pediatric cardiology research and has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles and has presented at national meetings and conferences. She has also served as a manuscript reviewer for prominent medical journals.
Dr. Plummer is a member of several professional and scientific societies, including the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography and the Association of Black Cardiologists, and she is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American College of Cardiology. She also serves on numerous professional organization committees.
