About
Janel Paukovits, MD is a Clinical Instructor and Assistant Medical Director at the Center for Emergency Medicine, University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She is the assistant medical director for the Center for Emergency Medicine at UH Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Paukovits is a practicing board-certified emergency medicine physician.
Dr. Paukovits is originally from Northampton, Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree at La Salle University (Philadelphia, PA) and attended medical school at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. She completed a residency in emergency medicine at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center and a fellowship in emergency medicine clinical operations and administration at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
Dr. Paukovits’ expertise includes operational improvement, particularly in the areas of stroke, sepsis, and chest pain.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
