About

Devashis Mukherjee, MD, MS completed his neonatal fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin/ Children’s Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI in 2021. He joined UH Rainbow Babies & Children's as faculty in 2021. Dr. Mukherjee is a basic and translational researcher with a focus on the neonatal innate immune system and its role in Gram negative sepsis. His lab focuses on the transcriptional control of the neutrophil response to bacterial toxin, and how this is related to the increased mortality in preterm babies. He also maintains a biorepository of E. coli isolated from neonates with early and late-onset sepsis in collaboration with other national centers.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
