About
Francisco Larrondo, MD, is a general cardiologist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He specializes in preventive cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging.
Dr. Larrondo earned his medical degree with the highest honors from the Pontifical Catholic University School of Medicine in Santiago, Chile. His postdoctoral training included a residency in internal medicine at the Pontifical Catholic University Hospital followed by two fellowships in general cardiology and advanced cardiovascular echocardiography at the Universidad Del Desarrollo (University for Development) in Santiago, Chile. He has 20 years of experience in the medical field.
Prior to joining University Hospitals, Dr. Larrondo was a staff cardiologist in the cardiology intensive care unit and served as Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory and Coordinator of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at the Clinica Alemana de Santiago (German Hospital of Santiago). He is skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of the full span of cardiovascular conditions including coronary artery disease, heart rhythm disorders, valvular heart disease and congestive heart failure.
In addition to his cardiology practice, Dr. Larrondo has contributed to the field of cardiovascular medicine as an educator and researcher, with publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals on the prevention of sudden cardiac death, management of septic shock, and optimal techniques in echocardiography. He is also a member of distinguished professional organizations including the American College of Cardiology, American College of Physicians and American Society of Echocardiography.
