About
Angela Jia, MD, PhD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She also serves in clinical roles at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine’s Department of Radiation Oncology, including Chief of Service in Genitourinary Radiation Oncology, Associate Residency Program Director, and Co-Director of Genitourinary Oncology Services.
Dr. Jia’s expertise includes the use of stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), adaptive radiotherapy and other radiation oncological approaches to treat prostate, kidney, bladder and other types of cancer. She is also active in advancing radiation oncology technology through innovative clinical trials.
Dr. Jia earned her PhD in pathobiology and molecular medicine from Columbia University (New York City, New York) in 2013 and her medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College (New York City, New York) in 2017. Dr. Jia’s post-graduate medical training included an internship in internal medicine at University of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore, Maryland) completed in 2018 and a residency in radiation oncology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (Baltimore, Maryland) completed in 2022.
Dr. Jia has contributed numerous articles for various peer-reviewed medical journals, among them European Urology, Lancet Oncology, JCO Oncology Practice and JAMA Oncology. She also serves as Associate Section Editor for Advances in Radiation Oncology, and a reviewer for peer-reviewed medical journals such as International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics and JCO Precision Oncology European Urology.
In addition to serving on a number of national and international scientific panels and committees, Dr. Jia is a regularly invited lecturer at various regional, national and international events. Professional societies in which she is a member include the American Board of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America, American Society of Radiation Oncology and American Society of Clinical Oncology.
In addition to being named to Cleveland Magazine's 2024 “Best Doctors” List, Dr. Jia is the recipient of the 2021 Frank L. Coulson, Jr. Award for Clinical Excellence, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, among other honors and awards.
