About
Dawn L. Gore is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) specializing in geriatric medicine and internal medicine. Since first earning certification as a registered nurse in 1999, Dawn has gained extensive experience in ICU care, dialysis care, long-term care and nursing education. She joined University Hospitals in 2024.
Dawn attended Youngstown State University (Youngstown, Ohio), where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing in 1992 and a Master of Science in nursing in 2006. Her professional certifications include emergency medical technician-basic, basic life support, and clinical nurse specialist in adult health. Dawn also holds a diploma in legal nurse consulting.
Throughout her career as a nurse, Dawn has held nursing appointments at a number of medical clinics and other healthcare facilities throughout Ohio, including Assurance Hospital, The Willows in Willard nursing facility, Southern Care Hospice, Fisher Titus Medical Center, Cleveland Clinic – Lorain Geriatrics, Associates in Nephrology, and St. Joseph Hospital (now part of Mercy Health System).

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
