I had a very poor experience with patient access radiology. Dr Ertel's staff went above and beyond to remedy the situation. They took responsibility for an error that was not theirs and worked with patient access radiology to remedy it. I cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work. Very caring and compassionate individuals and I am so appreciative for everything they did to take phenomenal care of my daughter. Cannot recommend their practice enough.

Dr. Ertel is our favorite! She is patient, amazing, concerned about the kids health, and you makes you comfortable. My kids dislike going to the doctor, but as long as we see their favorite they are fine with going!

Dr. Ertel is amazing! She was recommended to us by one of our friends and we have since recommended her to our other friends and neighbors. She makes me feel heard as a first time mom, she doesn't make me feel crazy for calling all of the time, and I love that she is very practical with her treatment plans. She makes me feel sane and confident that we're always doing what's best for my child. I truly appreciate her.

Dr. Joy Ertel is amazing. Prior to coming to Dr. Ertel, we always used minute clinics for illnesses, because doctor offices were too hard to get immediate appts, or we didn't like the primary doctor and didn't feel up to contending with them. Not the case with Dr. Ertel. It is such a relief to finally have a single doctor to trust all our care with, and to know we can always get in immediately for urgent needs. She is kind, great with children, knowledgeable, doesn't rush you, and has always served us well. And the front desk has always been kind too. ***

Industry Relationships

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. In providing this information, UH desires to assist patients in talking with their practitioners about industry relationships and how those relationships may impact their medical care.

UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.

As of December 31, 2016, Joy Ertel did not disclose any Outside Relationships with Industry.
