About

Kaitlyn Dunphy, MD, is a vascular surgeon and endovascular specialist at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute.

Dr. Dunphy earned her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She then completed an integrated vascular surgery residency at MedStar Washington Hospital Center/MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. During her residency, she was named education chief resident and developed the didactic curriculum for the vascular surgery residency and fellowship. Dr. Dunphy also participated on the Vascular Surgery-Cardiovascular Intensive Care Committee, an interdisciplinary team focused on quality improvement, patient safety and logistics to streamline and optimize care of vascular patients in the CVICU. As a result of her clinical and academic excellence, she was recognized with multiple nominations and awards.

Dr. Dunphy is highly skilled in performing the full range of open and minimally invasive surgical procedures for patients with aortic disease, carotid artery disease, deep venous conditions and peripheral arterial disease. She has a special interest in open and endovascular management of aortic aneurysms. She is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery and has authored multiple publications and presented at regional and national meetings on vascular related treatment techniques such as open and complex endovascular aortic repair, open and endovascular lower extremity revascularization, endovascular iliocaval reconstruction, and thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR).

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, practitioners report their industry relationships and activities, as well as those of their immediate family members, to the UH Office of Outside Interests annually. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
