About

Justin M. Dunn, MD, MPH, FACC, FSCAI, is an interventional cardiologist and Regional Director of the Valve & Structural Heart Disease Center at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of complex coronary, valve and structural heart conditions.

Dr. Dunn received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, Indiana. He then earned his medical degree with honors from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) with honors from Boston University School of Public Health. His postdoctoral training began with an internal medicine internship and residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, in the Osler Medical Residency. He then completed a cardiovascular medicine fellowship, during which he was elected chief fellow, followed by an interventional cardiology fellowship, both at the Cleveland Clinic, in Cleveland, Ohio.

Prior to joining UH Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute, Dr. Dunn served as Chief and Medical Director of Ischemic Heart Disease, Chair of the Clinical Performance Committee for Ischemic Heart Disease, Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, as well as founded and served as Program Director of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, at Summa Health in Akron, Ohio. He has participated in hundreds of structural heart procedures such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), transcatheter edge-to-edge mitral valve repair (TEER) and patent foramen ovale/atrial septal defect (PFO/ASD) closure. He has particular expertise in intracoronary imaging with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS).

Dr. Dunn is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He has been involved in several clinical research trials and has authored multiple publications in textbooks and medical journals. He is also actively involved in public health endeavors, as a current member of the national Council Operations Committee of the American Heart Association and past board president and current board member of the local American Heart Association chapter. In recognition of his clinical experience and dedication to advancing the field of interventional cardiology, Dr. Dunn has been named a fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (FSCAI). He has also been named a “Top Doc” by Cleveland Magazine in both cardiology and interventional cardiology.

Dr. Dunn lives in Cleveland with his wife and four children. He enjoys reading classic literature as well as watching and playing sports. He is an accomplished musician and enjoys listening to and playing music.
