About
Kelsey Rose Duncan, MD, MBA is a vascular neurologist and neuro-endovascular surgeon at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. She is also an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, where she participates in teaching, research and curriculum development across multiple professional programs.
Dr. Duncan’s passion for excellence in cerebrovascular healthcare extends across all aspects of care from prevention to acute treatment to recovery and rehabilitation. She is trained in the medical and interventional treatment of a wide spectrum of neurovascular pathologies including stroke and cerebral aneurysms, and is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology. As a physician with experience across multiple disciplines and specialties, she is an ardent advocate of interdisciplinary and value-based care.
After earning her undergraduate degree in nursing from Regis University, graduating summa cum laude, Dr. Duncan worked as a registered nurse prior to pursuing medical school. She completed her medical training at University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine S.E.L.E.C.T. program, earning a graduate certificate in leadership and graduating as part of the Robert A. Good Honors Society for biomedical research and innovation.
Dr. Duncan also earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Johns Hopkins University with dual concentrations in organizational leadership and healthcare management. She finished her clinical training at University Hospitals/ Case Western Reserve University, completing both the research and leadership in medical education tracks during residency followed by fellowships in vascular neurology and endovascular neurosurgery.
Throughout her training and practice, Dr. Duncan developed a passion for education, innovation, and quality improvement in stroke and neurovascular care and now serves as teaching faculty for neurology and neurosurgery residents and fellows. Her scholarly endeavors focus on genetic and clinical predictive modeling of stroke outcomes as well as cerebrovascular physiology and adaptation in extreme environments such as spaceflight.
