About
Deanna Dahl-Grove, MD, FAAP, is a pediatric emergency physician in the Division of Emergency Medicine at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She is Professor, Pediatrics, Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Dahl-Grove is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric emergency medicine and certified in Advanced Pediatric Life Support and Advanced Trauma Life Support. Her special interest is pediatric disaster medicine.
She earned her undergraduate degree in nutritional sciences with honors from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan, and her medical degree from Case Western Re-serve University School of Medicine. Dr. Dahl-Grove completed her residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. She has taken advanced courses in managing Children’s medical needs during disasters.
Dr. Dahl-Grove was appointed to the UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital staff in 1997.
She has authored and coauthored articles in peer-reviewed pediatric and emergency medicine publications and books and is a frequent speaker at local, regional and national medical and disaster preparedness conferences and meetings.
Dr. Dahl-Grove is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Her activities include serving as a member of the executive committee for AAP Committee on Children and Disasters. She is a member of the FEMA National Advisory Committee since 2018 and co-PI for ASPR Pediatric Center of Excellence for Eastern Great Lakes (Michigan and Ohio) 2019-20. She has participated in Emergency Medical Services for Children in Ohio since 1997 and is serving a co disaster dominion lead for the EIIC.

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
