About
Richard Chang, MD, is a specialist in hematology and medical oncology in the University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. He sees patients at St. John Medical Center in Westlake. Dr. Chang is Assistant Professor of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Chang is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology and hematology. His special interests include benign hematology, hemostasis and thrombosis, breast cancer, lung cancer, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, colon and rectal cancer, head and neck cancer and myelodysplasia.
Dr. Chang graduated cum laude from Harvard University and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, N.Y. He completed his internal medicine residency at Los Angeles County Hospital, and served as Chief Fellow in hematology/oncology at New York University.
He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the American Medical Association. He currently serves as Chair of the St. John Cancer Committee.

It was a very good experience for me, the doctor talked with me and was also interested in my sons health, as he also had cancer, and I had told him about it at my last visit 6 months prior to this visit. He listens to my concerns and also recalled my sons condition, which leads me to believe that he genuine cares about my family and me. Couldn't ask for a better doctor, he definitely takes his profession to heart, kudos to him and his staff!!!

DR. CHANG AND HIS ENTIRE STAFF ARE THE BEST! HAVING CANCER IS NOT ALWAYS EASY HOWEVER I CAN NOT IMAGE GOING THROUGH EVERYTHING WITHOUT THEM. THEY MAKE ME FEEL LIKE FAMILY AND I AM ALWAYS COMFORTABLE REACHING OUT TO THEM WITH ANY HEALTH CONCERNS.
Dr. Chang is a very knowledgeable doctor. He took the time to understand my medical history and the immediate medical issue I was recovering from, a saddle pulmonary embolism. Dr. Chang is at the top of my list as my care and health exceeds my expectations. He is caring, personable and wise. I receive pertinent information, while in his care. I always leave my appointment with a smile on my face. He is the only Doctor that I want for my health and safety.
Dr. Cheng was the best. My only problem was all the arm bands and fall risk tags before seeing the doctor for lab results. Saw doctor while in hospital for kidney failure.
Saw Dr. Change for a consult on my hematologic condition. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Change and my visit. He was extremely knowledgeable about my condition, helpful in explaining the ramifications of my tests and explained the additional tests he ordered. I never felt rushed even though I was squeezed In to the time slot. I felt that I was the only thing that mattered to Dr. Change at that moment. This appointment was a phone consult. Dr. Chang explained changes in my CT scan of my lungs and discussed possible changes in treatment if my symptoms worsen.
