About
Stephanie Brode, DO, is a board-certified family medicine physician at University Hospitals. Her clinical interests include weight and lifestyle management for chronic disease prevention, particularly diabetes and hypertension. She also has a special focus on women’s health, including lactation medicine, and is a certified lactation consultant.
Dr. Brode graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in biological sciences and a minor in medical sciences. She earned her medical degree at Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic and completed her residency at University Hospitals, St. John Medical Center in Westlake, Ohio.
Dedicated to her community, Dr. Brode founded a non-profit organization, The Cardinal Crew, to support families impacted by addiction. She has completed additional training in addiction medicine to provide comprehensive care to those affected by addiction.
Believing in the importance of work-life balance, Dr. Brode enjoys spending time outdoors with her two children, Logan and Eileigh, often exploring the trails of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. She is also passionate about running, with the goal of completing a full or half marathon in all 50 states.

University Hospitals is committed to transparency in our interactions with industry partners, such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device companies. At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized. In addition, we disclose payments to employed practitioners of $5,000 or more from companies with which the practitioners interact as part of their professional activities. These practitioner-industry relationships assist in developing new drugs, devices and therapies and in providing medical education aimed at improving quality of care and enhancing clinical outcomes. At the same time, UH understands that these relationships may create a conflict of interest. UH practitioners seek advance approval for certain new industry relationships. We review these reports and implement management plans, as appropriate, to address conflicts of interest that may arise in connection with medical research, clinical care and purchasing decisions.
