About
Anthony Ashkar, DO, is a pulmonary and critical care physician at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Dr. Ashkar is board certified in pulmonary disease, critical care medicine and internal medicine. He has been involved in several clinical research trials and has authored multiple publications in nationally and internationally recognized medical professional journals.
Dr. Ashkar earned his medical degree at New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine in Long Island, New York. His postdoctoral training began with an internal medicine residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine in Brooklyn, New York. He then completed a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Ascension Providence Hospital in Southfield, Michigan.
Prior to joining University Hospitals Respiratory Health Institute, Dr. Ashkar served as a medical intensivist and staff pulmonologist at Pulmonary Specialists of Michigan, PC (Dearborn, Michigan); Critical Care Medicine Associates, PC (Dearborn, Michigan); and Consultants in Sleep & Pulmonary Medicine, PLLC (Farmington Hills, Michigan).

At UH, we disclose practitioner and their family members’ ownership and intellectual property rights that are or in the process of being commercialized.
