About
Arpit Agarwal, MD, is a pediatric cardiologist and Chief Medical Informatics Officer at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, and an Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He previously served as Chief Medical Informatics Officer and a pediatric cardiologist at the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, and as an Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine.
Dr. Agarwal is board certified in pediatric cardiology by the American Board of Pediatrics and in clinical informatics by the American Board of Preventive Medicine, with a certification in cardiac MRI from the Board of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance. Dr. Agarwal’s clinical interests include treating pediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease, clinical informatics and management, advanced cardiac imaging, 3D modeling, 3D printing and use of artificial intelligence.
Dr. Agarwal earned a medical degree from King George’s Medical University, Lucknow, India. He completed a pediatric residency at Maimonides Infants and Children’s Hospital, in Brooklyn, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Jackson Memorial Hospital, in Miami, and a pediatric cardiology fellowship in advanced non-invasive imaging at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Dr. Agarwal went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in computer information systems from Boston University and completed the executive program in artificial intelligence in healthcare from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Agarwal is a member of the Extracorporeal Life Support Organization, Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, Society of Cardiovascular Computer Tomography, Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Fetal Heart Society, America Society of Echocardiography, Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, American Medical Informatics Association, American College of Medical Quality, American College of Cardiology, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Society of Nephrology, College of Critical Care Medicine and Delhi Medical Association. Dr. Agarwal serves as an Associate Editor for the cardiology section of Frontiers Publications and as Academic Editor for the pediatric cardiology section of MDPI Publishers.
A recipient of numerous awards and recognition, Dr. Agarwal has written many publications and book chapters, and presented posters and topics at national and international medical meetings. He is also a contributor to several clinical curriculums and courses. Dr. Agarwal is actively involved in many important clinical research projects in the congenital heart disease community and serves as principal investigator of numerous CHD clinical trials.
