In 1961, Richmond Heights experienced its first full year as a city. That same year, its 5,068 residents saw the opening of their very own community hospital. With this rebirth, UH Richmond Medical Center became a full-service, community-based, 125-bed acute care teaching hospital, offering residents of Lake and eastern Cuyahoga Counties more than 30 specialties from over 400 physicians and an unparalleled nursing staff.
