The Addiction Recovery Services of University Hospitals is conducting clinical research on the treatment of Alcohol Dependence in adults with Bipolar I Disorder, a mood disorder that affects more than four million people in the United States. This research study is designed to look at the safety and effectiveness of a medication used with lithium or depakote for the treatment of alcohol dependence in adults with Bipolar I Disorder. |
| Criteria: |
Participants must be between 21 and 60 years old, with a history of recent heavy drinking and have the diagnosis of Bipolar I Disorder and Alcohol Dependence. |
