Microsampling Techniques
Phlebotomy takes very small amounts of blood for testing and limits the number of times blood is drawn daily.

Intraoperative Blood Salvage " Advanced Cell Salvage"
Allows for reinfusion of your own blood during surgery by recirculating blood that otherwise would be lost during surgery,the blood is than cleaned and filtered than reinfused by means of a closed circuit. This technique is extremely helpful in surgeries where a moderate to large amount of blood is estimated to be lost.

Synthetic Erythropoietin
This protien stimulates the bone marrow to produce more red blood cells. Brand names: Epogen, Procrit.

Volume Expanders
Intravenous non-blood fluids that enhance the circulating blood volume.

Albumin
A protein made in the liver and carried to the body via the circulatory system. It is generally used to expand the blood volume.

Fibrinogen
A protein found in a product called crypopreicipitate which helps platelets to form clots.

Protiens that act as antibodies to treat infections.

A process by which a persons blood is circulated through a machine to clean and filter the blood and return it to the circulatory system. This process is becomes neccesary when the kidnsy's are not able to function properly and filter out waste.

Non-Invasive monitoring of the oxygen concentration in the body, by means of a light beam.
