Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics
Developmental-behavioral pediatricians provide evaluation and medical management of a variety of developmental/behavioral problems, including developmental delay, autism spectrum disorders, and ADHD:
- Developmental delay
- Autistic spectrum disorders
- Down syndrome and other genetic disabilities, including the behavioral problems associated with these disorders
- ADHD
Pediatric Psychology
Clinical psychologists provide psychological evaluation and treatment for behavioral and emotional problems through counseling. Services include:
- Assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with anxiety disorders
- Assessment and treatment of children/adolescents with autism spectrum disorders/Aspergers
- Evaluation and management of feeding problems and gastrointestinal problems
- Toileting problems/issues
- Evaluation of emotional issues, and issues resulting from separation or loss
- Evaluation and management of the emotional and behavioral problems associated with chronic physical illness and adherence to medical regimens
- Management of children with bedwetting problems, chronic pain, habit problems, pulmonary problems such as cough habits, vocal cord dysfunction, exercise-induced asthma, sleep disorders, and pseudo seizures and conversion disorders, through hypnosis and biofeedback
Pediatric Neuropsychology
Pediatric Neuropsychologists assess children with learning and school-related problems resulting from learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism spectrum disorders, head injury, seizure disorders and other neurological problems, and cancer or other chronic physical conditions. Services include:
- A comprehensive evaluation that includes assessment of the child's neurocognitive, behavioral, and learning abilities
- Development of treatment plans that may include extensive evaluations, individual recommendations, and special assistance for children who are chronically or acutely ill
- Working with the child, parents, and teachers to establish a comprehensive plan to address learning needs
