Pediatric Fellowship

The ACGME accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship at University Hospitals Case Medical Center and Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital is a one year training program for anesthesiologists who desire additional training in pediatric anesthesiology. 

A maximum of two positions are available per academic year.

The program is designed to give fellows an intensive and comprehensive experience providing pediatric anesthesia and perioperative care, including pain management and critical care.

Along with providing clinical care to patients, fellows teach medical students and anesthesiology residents, assist with departmental administration, and organize at least one research project.

By completion of the program, fellows are expected to have developed the competencies listed in the six areas below when providing pediatric anesthesia care:

1. Patient care
2. Medical knowledge
3. Practice-based learning and improvement
4. Interpersonal and communication skills
5. Professionalism
6. Systems-based practice

In addition to a yearly stipend, fellows are allotted 4 weeks vacation time, 1 week for academic meetings and 2 reading days per month.
