Award Winning Publication from Human Resources
In addition to numerous accolades for providing topnotch health care, UH now boasts an award winning employee communication. The League of American Communications Professionals LLC (LACP) named University Hospitals Human Resources’ “U are UH Personal Total Rewards Statement” a Gold Award Winner in the internal communications competition and a Top 50 Overall Internal Materials Winner in its 2007 Inspire Awards.
Multiple competition classes were created to level the playing field for the 550 entries submitted for the competition. Factors determining peer-level class were company size, annual revenue and other pertinent aspects. Scores were based on a 100-point scale and awards were given at the platinum, gold, silver and bronze levels to each class. Top 50 and Top 100 awards were given to the highest-scoring entries regardless of competition class.
“U are UH Personal Total Rewards Statement” earned 96 out of 99 possible points in its class. It also was among the top 37 entries of all those reviewed.
The UH Human Resources Rewards and Recognition Department, along with Human Resources consultants at Findley Davies, worked to create the “U are UH Personal Total Rewards Statement” to communicate the total value of pay, benefits and recognition programs provided to each employee through a personalized, easy-to-read format. Human Resources hoped to convey the advantages of being a UH employee and to share valuable information that would help employees better understand their benefits. The statements were mailed to approximately 10,000 employees’ homes in August 2007.
The LACP formed in 2001 to create a forum within the public relations industry to discuss best practices and recognize those who exemplify them.
