Fast Breast MRI Screenings

What is a “Fast Breast MRI” Study?

If you're one of the 40% of women diagnosed with dense breast tissue, this self-pay test is a real game change.

The Fast Breast MRI is a 10-minute, self-pay examination for $250. Scientific studies have shown that this screening method is effective in detecting invasive breast cancers. An MRI breast screening is ideal for women with dense breast tissue who may not qualify for a conventional breast MRI study based on their lifetime risk for breast cancer. In contrast to a fast MRI, a conventional breast MRI study takes approximately 45 minutes. It is intended for women with a higher risk for developing breast cancer, such as those with inherited conditions like BRCA1/2 genetic mutations. The Fast Breast MRI does not detect the spectrum of diseases that can be identified by a conventional breast MRI exam. As with any screening exam, additional non-cancerous lesions may also be detected, which may require biopsy or additional follow-up.

What to Expect During Your MRI Breast Screening

The fast MRI breast screening requires an injection of contrast that is given through an IV. The study will be interpreted by a specially trained breast radiologist and the results will be sent to your doctor. You will need a doctor’s order for this exam. There is no radiation associated with this study.

Schedule Your Breast MRI

The Fast Breast MRI is a low cost, self-pay supplemental study for women with dense breast tissue who want a screening that is more sensitive to breast cancer than mammography. The Fast Breast MRI may detect cancers not visible on a mammogram. However, it is not intended to replace mammography. Routine screening mammograms are still recommended.
